Basic information about the project

The main objective of the project is to analyse the current trends and perspectives in development of South Korea-V4 trade and investment, especially to identify strong common interests and potential areas of improvement in further development of V4-South Korea economic relations. In the course of the project, our research team will focus on the following issues:

  1. Analysis of the Korea-V4 trade relations and patterns from both goods and commercial services perspective
  2. Analysis of the investment environment and main trends of foreign direct investment flows between Korea and the V4 countries with the aim of identifying new opportunities for their further development;

Each project partner will explore each research topic from the perspective of their respective country. Following the initial phase of research, representatives of each project partner will participate in the scientific conference held in Bratislava in June 2015, where the main findings of research will be presented. It will be attended by academics, experts and PhD. students. Experts from the ministries of economy of V4 countries will be invited to present their views regarding the analysed topics. Following the thorough analysis and a round-table discussion of the underlying issues from the point of view of all the participating countries, project participants will all contribute to the scientific output from the symposium/academic workshop/conference addressing the main areas of research including final recommendations and conclusions.

Recommendations and conclusions of the project research will be sent to relevant institutions and will be presented at a workshop in Korea in September 2015.
