The Department of International Law was formed after the foundation of the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics in 2000.
Its first leader was doc. JUDr. Katarína Válková, CSc., later prof. JUDr. Stanislav Mráz, CSc. became the Head of the Department, JUDr. Lucia Hurná, PhD., and currently the Head is again prof. JUDr. Stanislav Mráz, CSc.
The Department with its activities provides the development of the students' thinking and knowledge of the Faculty of International Relations of the UE, in accordance with the profile of the graduate, in both Bachelor, Master and Doctoral studies.
Subjects provided by the Department:

- European Union Law,
- Public International Law I.,
- Public International Law I.,
- International Criminal Law,
- WTO Law.
In their research and publishing activities, the staff of the Department focus on addressing international security issues, resolving disputes, whether in economic, political or legal matters, by developing diplomatic and consular rights, strengthening and improving humanitarian law and also, issues of legislation on the use of airspace and outer space.
The Department develops relations with national and foreign universities. Our staff give lectures at universities in Poland, Russia, China, Thailand and Hungary.
Cooperation is also developed with foreign universities in dealing with scientific tasks and publishing activities.
